We Make Plans But God Directs Our Steps
The podcast for today’s episode features the incredible story of Michele Williams on how she was able to overcome two of the most pivotal moments in her life and how she was able to inspire and help other people through her experiences. Michele Williams is a certified profit-first professional who focuses on creative business, financial health and profit-builder companies. She manages her own business and at the same time work with her clients to understand the impact of the choices they make and what it means for financial or business success.
The first pivotal moment of her life came when the company where she’s been working for 10 years got bought and sold that made her unemployed in a blink of an eye. She struggled to find a new job while caring for her two little kids and helping her husband with their financial needs. Another blow came into her life when she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and a life-threatening DKA (diabetic ketoacidosis). She underwent a by-pass surgery when doctors also found out she has no pulse on her right hand.
She wasn’t willing to give up her 6 figure income to go try to start something new. But she believes that God was prompting her heart to give up that job and she thinks that out of fear she wouldn’t be able to do it. But she did. And she realized that God has more in store for her if only she would let Him do it for her.

Through the most challenging and difficult times of her life, she was able to learn more about herself and about God. God brought her the business the way He wanted it to be, not the way she wanted it to be. They came when she let go, when she said I surrender, Your way not my way, you tell me where to go you tell me what to do and I’ll do it.

Michele Williams is the founder of Scarlet Thread Consulting, former soft treatment fabricator, and wife / mom always. She’s a graduate of B.S. in Business Administration, and proud of the diploma in Christian Life Coaching she earned through Light University. Additionally, she is one of the few certified Profit First coaches in the United States – and a creative on top of that! She also served as Communications Director and Editor-in-Chief of the Drapery and Design Professional magazine from 2009-2012 and today she is a proud member of the Design Collective and the Window Coverings Association of America, where she served as President of the national organization and on the board of directors for nine years. In addition to coaching, she hosts workshops, provide online training, she also offers educational seminars on a variety of business topics around the country.
