A Profoundly Simple But Powerful Prayer Model for Couples
Sam and Vicki Ingrassia have been married for over 43 years, which is an incredible feat in this day and age.
They’ve been involved in a lot of ministry for several years, but they still encountered a bumpy season wherein Vicki told Sam, “I feel that you have failed me.” Sam narrated the story of how it was like a rocket that hit his heart, and what he did after that revelation.
“When I created Eve, I had to put Adam to sleep. When I’m finished with I want to do with you, I’ll wake Sam up.” – the still, small voice that spoke to Vicki Ingrassia while she was contemplating their marital situation
Vicki was surprised not only by Sam’s “admission of guilt” and taking ownership of the problem, but also by the fact that he immediately had a solution.
Sam proposed the idea of praying more regularly and more intentionally by reading a few Bible verses together with Vicki. They will then observe those verses and see what the Holy Spirit is saying to them. Then they’ll just pray what they see in the text, and pray that over the kids and their marriage.

Sam and Vicki are trying to spread a message of hope, not guilt. There’s more than enough guilt and negativity going around, so they focus on positive words like restoration, healing, and reconciliation.
Sam reiterated that what all this is about is equipping us to just face the realities of life. Life is real. Spiritual battles are real. We need to be equipped to handle what’s coming to us.

Bio
Sam and Vicki Ingrassia are approaching four decades of marriage, have three adult daughters and live in Dallas Texas. They have served for more than twenty years in full time missions ministry with e3 Partners Ministry. Together they have led teams around the world for the purpose of evangelism and church planting. Gifted and passionate as a Bible teacher, Sam has earned degrees in Biblical education and a Master’s in theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. He also has previous ministry experience as a Bible college professor and pastor.
