Prayer Against Leviathan

Have you ever spoken to someone, or to an audience, and heard later that what you said was completely different than what people interpreted you said? Or have you had a conversation with someone, maybe even your spouse, where you said one thing and she thought you said another thing?

Maybe you heard a news program that communicated information that you knew simply was not true, or perhaps you heard a sermon, you listened to that sermon, and later someone else said they heard something different.

Os Hillman, founder and president of Marketplace Leaders, is describing the Leviathan principality. You may have been a victim of the Leviathan principality, which is talked about in Job 41. While it is not taught very much in the church today, it is having a big impact on what we experience every day when we watch the news or hear people communicate.

The Leviathan principality means “twisted serpent.” It is actually talked about as a representative of a serpent, a principality; not just a demon, but a principality over regions and even domains.

Today, we want to pray against the principality of Leviathan. You see, Leviathan twists your words, and that’s how we get fake news. That’s how we’re seeing politics play out every day with words that are not based on truth.

We want to pray that God will expose those things that are not based on truth, and that righteousness and truth would be restored in our land.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, we come to you today and we stand together against the Leviathan principality that wants to destroy and twist people’s words, and wants to cause division by lying and the misinterpretation of communication.

We pray for our leaders in Washington, that they would understand the importance of truth in their words.

We pray for those in the media that are putting out things that are not based on truth, and we pray those words would not land on the listeners, but Father, that they would be able to know the truth because the truth shall make you free.

Heavenly Father, we ask you today to help us to walk in integrity and truth this day, and that Father, you would raise up people that would also walk in the truth. Father, we ask forgiveness for being influenced by this principality. We ask you today, Father, to make us people of truth.
