Today we are going to pray for families! Right now in this season, families are so busy and up against so much within our culture.
Let’s lift up before God that our families would be passing on godly values; that they would be taking time to intentionally connect with their children; and connect over passing on those values that are so dear to our heart; that God started a good work in us that He may complete it and He may complete that in our children.
I pray for the next generation because they are battling so many waves of culture that are trying to drown them: voices and social media; gender confusion; pornography; conflicting worldviews…that completely negate God’s word. We want to pray for the mental health crisis that is ambushing this next generation, where they are drowning in anxiety and depression.
I want to see families rise up and that they would be able to lift up their children. The verse that God gave me for this is Isaiah 59:21. It says:
“And this is my covenant with them,” says the Lord. “That my Spirit will not leave them, neither will the words that I have given you. These will be on your lips, and the lips of your children, and your children’s children forever. I, the Lord, have spoken.”
Prayer
God, I lift up to You all the parents of this generation, that You would give them wisdom, understanding, revelation; that you would just give them discernment. Help them spend intentional time with their children, to raise them up in You.
God, I pray for the next generation, that you would give them discernment as they listen to the voices of the media and voices in social media. Set them free from addiction, Lord, that You would come and give them not a spirit of fear, but of power and love and of a sound mind.
God, bind the spirit of suicide that is trying to take out our children. Lord, right now, we just call the prodigals home. We ask that you would bring them home to your everlasting arms of love.
God, I pray right now for everyone, that we would lift up this next generation and that you would bless them. God, we lift up our own children right now by name and ask, God, that You would bless them right now in Jesus’ name. Amen.
