Today, I am going to be praying for the next generation (my generation!) and the position that they’re going to be filling in the coming years and the importance of that.
With social media, the news cycle and everything going on right now, there tends to be two problems that are created, especially with the younger generations. They are either extremely hateful toward anyone with opposing opinions, or they see constantly everything going wrong in the world and they just become apathetic. They think, “I’m one person. What can I do? There’s no point. I’m just not going to get involved with anything.”
It is very important that my generation, as we start to take our place in leadership roles and become the movers and shakers in this country, that we do it in a Biblical, godly way, and that is: taking advice from our elders; taking counsel; approaching people, even with different opinions, in a loving way; and really having the courage to step up and trust that they are part of something bigger.
Prayer
Dear Lord, thank You for the opportunity to be a part of such important times. I pray that my generation, Lord, would have the wisdom to listen to the counsel of our elders.
I pray that we would have the loving spirit of Jesus, to be able to approach people with beliefs different from ours, and have a conversation in acceptance and love, not with hatred or judgment.
And God, I pray that people of my generation would stand up and have the courage to act on what they know is right. I pray that they would have the courage to work toward the building of your Kingdom and work toward all the important things that really need to get fixed at this point in history.
Lord, I pray that you bless the young people of America, and that you give them patience, love, wisdom and courage. Use us to rebuild everything that has been broken over the past century. In your name, I pray. Amen.
