Prayer For A Great Awakening

Hello, and thank you for being part of this prayer challenge! There are thousands of people praying every day in unity and you are part of something powerful. We are creating a movement. We are joining God in what He is doing.

Recently, I was asked to go to Washington, D.C. I just felt like I needed to be there for the Prayer March. The night before the Prayer March, a friend and I were walking the National Mall and praying. I expected to go into this like when I used to go into combat or like I was going into a fight. I just felt like when I got to D.C., the spiritual battle was going to be intense, and I had people praying for that.

As I walked down the Mall, I looked at my good friend and I said, “Hey, do you feel that?” There were no police anywhere, yet I felt completely safe. I could feel this joy, this power, this love, this authority. It felt like something miraculous was emerging and I was in the middle of it.

I realized that what I was feeling was the Spirit of Jesus, and it wasn’t just where I was standing. This permeated the entire city. This is how God responds when believers come together and pray and we pray in unity!

I’m just thinking to myself… God showed me what can happen. He can do that in the city as we pray. What if that Spirit rolled across the country? There was no division; there was no strife; there was no bickering; there were no confrontations. It was beautiful.

Here are the resources for you so we can grow this into a movement. Let’s go from thousands to tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands. The first Scripture that God led me to is:

Isaiah 42:16:
16 And I will lead the blind
in a way that they do not know,
in paths that they have not known
I will guide them.
I will turn the darkness before them into light,
the rough places into level ground.
These are the things I do,
and I do not forsake them.

I have felt this on my heart ever since God saved me. Nine years ago, I had an accident that put me in the hospital for two years, 23 surgeries. I would not be here except for God’s direct intervention. And here’s what Jesus said:

Matthew 9:37-38
37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

And that’s what you are. You have been called to this and you’re doing it and I love you for it.  I am grateful and I thank you!

Prayer

In the name of Jesus, Father, we lift to You all of America. We pray for an Awakening in each life.

We pray that the eyes of their understanding be enlightened to know You and the hope to which You have called them.

We pray that the light of the Gospel shines brightly in their lives, that they will not turn away from it. Like the early morning sun shining through a window, Lord, awaken them to Your mercies! Stir them! Shake them!

We pray they will have eyes to see and ears to hear. Send laborers across their path, people they will hear and that are anointed to speak into their lives.

Let there be such a move of Your Spirit across this nation that even the most stubborn and hardest of hearts will melt in the presence of Your love.

Awaken them to the reality of Your coming, Lord Jesus! Use me now, Lord, as I pray in the Spirit for an Awakening unto You:

I pray for all of those in authority.
I pray for an awakening in families.
I pray for an awakening in the young people of our nation.
I pray for an awakening in our government, in our military, in our schools, and in the media,

Lord, we believe. We receive. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
