Randy Kenworthy is the managing partner of Coachman Energy Partners. From 2007 to 2009, Randy spearheaded the efforts of raising over $115 million for two funds to acquire and develop 10,000 net mineral acres in North Dakota’s Bakken Shale. From 2007 to 2011, the funds participated in drilling 105 Bakken and Three Forks wells, culminating in the production of 800 barrels at day net to the funds by end of 2011. In January 2012, the majority of the funds’ assets and associated production was sold to a Fortune 100 company. Under Randy’s leadership, Coachman Energy currently manages multiple acquisition and development projects throughout North Dakota, Montana, and Colorado.
A serial entrepreneur, Randy has extensive experience in founding, leading and growing sustainable, profitable companies. He has personally founded three companies and has participated as a senior executive in early stage management teams of six venture-backed organizations in numerous industry segments including: Training and Development, Software, Hardware, Technology Services and Financial Services. Additionally, throughout his 30-year career Randy has held the executive positions of CEO; Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing; Vice President of Sales; and Vice President of Business Development. Combined, his experience provides him with a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of successful business operations.
Randy maintains a strong personal commitment to mentoring young entrepreneurs and business professionals. For the past 18 years Randy has been an annual speaker for the Southern Methodist University Cox School of Business Executive MBA and Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship programs. He has authored two custom training programs used by 7,000 sales personnel on three continents, and continues to be a sought after speaker and subject matter expert in the areas of sales, marketing, business development, private investment and financing.
