Rich Marshall | God @ Rest: Keys to Finding Peace of Mind

How to Find God in the Middle of the Struggle

Rich Marshall is an international speaker, trainer, author, and television show host. On this episode, he talked to Steve Reiter about his brand new book God @ Rest. They also talked about his TV show God@Work TV.

There are pressures in ministry and pressures in business that only Jesus can help you with. – Rich Marshall

Contrary to initial impressions, the God @ Rest message is not “take a vacation”, it’s not “work less hours”, and it’s not “get more sleep”. The message is this: how to find God in the middle of the struggle; how to get His infusion of strength into your life when you’re struggling with stress, fear, worry, or any of a number of things.

Rich started writing the book ten years ago. He would write a bit, hit a wall, then write a bit more, and hit a wall again. That, along with his wife’s advice and support, made him realize that he had to learn the concepts for himself, as he wasn’t fully practicing what he was preaching.

In vain do you get up early and put off going to bed, working hard to earn a living, for He provides for His beloved even when they sleep. – Psalms 127:2, Complete Jewish Bible

The Seven-Step Process to Enter God’s Rest:

  1. Come to Me
  2. Let go of your weariness
  3. Receive the gift
  4. Let Jesus be your partner
  5. Learn from the Master
  6. Practice real humility
  7. Receive real peace of mind

When you get into God’s rest, he takes care of so many things and life becomes easy for you. – Rich Marshall

Rich shared that sometimes he still has moments of stress and pressure. But even under pressure, when he relaxes, and let God do it, it’s so much better. It’s all a matter of letting go, and stepping into His way.
