He had mentors that taught him that you need to put good things in your mind, and you need to spend an hour each day and reach out for yourself to grow. Ty Bennett did a lot of speaking, a lot of stage time, and a lot of time to develop content and ideas because he was training his team, which is basically like a built-in research lab. He said that there are a lot of things that come into play in terms of learning or creating new system. He really thinks that you have to be a student of that industry and you have to involve yourself like going into different mastermind groups, getting to know the speakers, hosting a podcast , interviewing different people, learning who the players are, and see what’s working and what’s not.
In his new book, Partnership is the New Leadership, Ty Bennett talked about approaching leadership as a partnership changes the level of commitment that your people show up with. He emphasized that when you build different relationships, you give your people a voice and people support what they help to create. According to statistics, 76% of people want commitment from their leaders, and foundationally, commitment is built on relationships and connection with your people because it is human nature to show up differently for people you like. You put more into it because you enjoy it.
