What it Takes to be Human
The guest for today’s podcast is a living testimony of goodness. With all his efforts, he tries his best to fulfill the role of being a president of a non-profit organization, the Tim Tebow Foundation. To be the light for those who are in the dark days, the dedication that this man had shown is exemplary and is very inspiring to everyone. Let us learn from his sharing as he tries to make it clear to us what it takes to be truly human.
“I am adopting the servant leadership of Christ as my call, as my passion.” – Steve Biondo
Growing up as a believer, Steve believed that God is always the way towards a better and a greater path. That is why if there is a specific model to imitate, that would be the servant leadership. Instead of being served as the leader, be the one to serve. Extend help to those who are in need without asking anything in return.
In this complicated world, we most of the time become too focused on working on our way to the top without realizing that we will not be there in the first place without the help of the people we are supposed to serve.
“When we zoom in on us, things kinds get shady. But when we zoom out and look at others, we see the big picture that God is up to.” – Steve Biondo
If there is one thing that I would like to emphasize on this point, that is we become too focused on ourselves. We fail to see the bigger picture. We fail to recognize that in this universe, we are just a small tiny being, and we have to make the most out of it by making a difference in our ways. At the time, admit it or not, we do some self-serving actions.
Later in our life, there is a great possibility that we will regret the life we had. We might say that we should have done something better and more significant than what we had. Steven emphasized that we should be inclusive. It means that in everything that we do, we consider other people.
“Wake up, serve, repeat.” – Steve Biondo
The continuous process of waking up with a purpose is necessary. It so happens that for Steve, he chose to do it through serving the needy. In the same manner that he convinces us to wake up to do something good not solely for ourselves but for the majority. Isn’t it beautiful to think that we wake up each day with a smile on our face because we are into something good and better? The idea of it is love and sincere.
Living a life as a servant leader is not an easy task. But as Steve was able to prove, it is possible. All it takes is a pure intention, a hardworking plan, and a good heart to carry out the task. Life is always beautiful when shared with people.
